After Reese received his voucher from New Eyes, we asked for a picture of him wearing his new glasses and to share his story to encourage people to support the eyeglass voucher program. This is his response:
“I was honored when I received your letter asking for help. It will be my honor to help you in any way that I can….I am a veteran, I am 59 years old, I am currently staying at the Healing Place of Wake County.
“Your voucher has helped me in many ways. I have been able to read Recovery Dynamic material, write papers and understand what I read ’cause I can now see it. New Eyes not only has helped me be a part of the Healing Place program, but it has also enhanced all areas of my life. I like to read books, magazines and newspapers. New Eyes is a very good program that helps a lot of people beside me. There are so many things that I am able to do, all I have to do is read the instructions. Thank you New Eyes. Whatever you need, all you have to do is ask.”
